• West Valley Detention Center (WVDC): Opened in 1991 and located in Rancho Cucamonga at 9500 Etiwanda Avenue, the West Valley Detention Center is one of the largest county jails in California. In addition to completing approximately 50,000 to 60,000 inmate bookings and releases each year, the West Valley Detention Center employs more than 600 people. The facility has a capacity of 3,347, with most of its population being pre-trial inmates.

• Central Detention Center (CDC): Previously known as Central Jail and established in 1971, the Central Detention Center served as the main county jail in San Bernardino County for more than two decades before closing due to budget issues. It reopened three years later and now houses federal and county inmates. Located at 630 East Rialto in the City of San Bernardino, the Central Detention Center now processes more than 20,000 inmates every year.

• High Desert Detention Center: Located at 9438 Commerce Way in Adelanto, the High Desert Detention Center opened in January 2006 as the first Type II facility in the High Desert, which encompasses areas of the western Mojave Desert, including the Mojave River Valley and Victor Valley around Victorville, CA. The High Desert Detention Center has 200 employees and can house more than 2,100 inmates at any given time.

• Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center: Situated on nine acres in San Bernardino, the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center is the primary facility for both female and male inmates serving time in San Bernardino County. It originally opened as a work camp with a maximum capacity of 100 male inmates in 1960. The female facility opened in 1988, and a Maximum Security Unit was added in 2003. Today, the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center typically houses an average of 800 male and female inmates and has a maximum capacity of 1,446, both pre-trial and sentenced.
